Learn from conservation leaders in the Caribbean and from around the world
The first annual FCAL conference took place on November 19, 2021. Initially named Fellows in Caribbean Academic Leadership, FCAL included plenaries from keynote speakers actively engaged in local and global marine conservation; invited talks from regional experts and alumni from different sectors in the Caribbean; workshops on tools to enhance visual and written communication skills; and a panel where Marine, Wildlife & Conservation Biology alumni from St. George's University discussed their experiences navigating academia, NGOs, and government. The overwhelming positive feedback from attendees highlighted the need for such an event and has since been renamed Fellows in Conservation Advancement & Leadership to better encompass the goals and scope of the conference.
